HOME is designed to promote the culture of olive oil and olive growing while preserving Salento’s tangible and intangible heritage. The museum will offer a narrative and immersive experience through multimedia pathways, mixed reality and multisensory workshops, accessible to all. The spaces will be regenerated through sustainable adaptive reuse, energy-efficient systems and innovative technologies. The project also includes the creation of a Digital Library to organise and make accessible documents, studies and scientific content.
HOME will provide training and e-learning activities, educational workshops and research programmes developed in collaboration with universities and research centres. Events, exhibitions and experiential activities will be organised to attract visitors and engage the local community. The project also aims to develop partnerships with public and private organisations and other cultural attractions across Salento, creating thematic itineraries and integrated cultural packages to increase both tourism and cultural engagement.
HOME will become an innovative hub offering complementary services including tastings, retail and hospitality, further enhancing the attractiveness of the area. The project is expected to generate a broader economic impact by supporting cultural industries, tourism and local businesses.
The initiative will also promote social inclusion and community participation, strengthening local identity and cultural awareness. From an architectural perspective, the project aims to enhance the Casino as a historic building while transforming it into a centre for sustainable creativity.
