By integrating advanced language models, computer vision technologies, and document verification systems, these platforms improve access to information, combat counterfeiting, and support professionals in their daily tasks.
AI Assistant for Safeguarding “Made in Italy”
An AI assistant dedicated to protecting and promoting “Made in Italy” products, with an initial use case developed for the Prosecco DOC sector. The platform integrates GPT technologies to manage intelligent conversations and advanced computer vision models to verify the authenticity of bottle labels and tax stamps.
Conversational Capabilities
The assistant is powered by the GPT-4o mini model and trained on specialized documentation regarding Prosecco DOC.
Key features:
- Multilingual support that automatically maintains the user’s language.
- Responses phrased in a positive and engaging tone.
- Interactions concluded with contextual questions to foster dialogue and further exploration.
Dynamic generation of suggestions and follow-up questions consistent with the conversation context.
Verification of Prosecco labels
By uploading a photograph of the bottle, the system uses visual recognition algorithms to:
- Examine the label on the bottle.
- Verify that it corresponds to producers belonging to the Prosecco DOC Consortium.
Verify compliance with the authenticity and quality standards set out in the product specification.
Verification of the tax stamp’s authenticity
The solution developed by Commed I A also makes it possible to verify the authenticity of the tax stamps on DOC bottles.
Functionality:
- Uploading the photograph of the band.
- Reading and verification of the unique identification codes on the bottle.
- Verification of the correspondence between the identification code and the control code generated by the State Mint.
- Querying web services dedicated to code validation.
- Confirmation of product authenticity through objective verification.
This technology makes a tangible contribution to the fight against counterfeiting, protecting both producers and consumers.
A project to protect “Made in Italy”
The initiative represents a concrete example of the application of artificial intelligence to support the Italian agri-food supply chain.
Objectives and prospects:
- Protection of certified products against counterfeiting.
- Use of innovative technologies to address real-world market challenges.
- Safeguarding the quality and integrity of Italian products.
- Future extension of the platform to other consortia collaborating with the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato.
- Supporto alla certificazione e alla protezione dei prodotti tutelati.
